Career Development
While the primary goal of the IAR is to find and promote the nation’s top independent artists, there is always room for improvement. Every artist who submits their materials for the IAR receives a detailed one page critique of their submission. While the review covers the basics, it does not go into detail of all the aspects of the basic IAR review.
Artists who would like to have a more in-depth critique of their materials can request a IAR Umbrella review. Umbrella reviews focus on one or all of the following areas of the artist’s submission.

Workshops
In addition to Umbrella Reviews, the IAR is able to arrange artist development workshops with David Codr. Codr is currently the creator and Publisher of the Music Phone Book but has been a prominent figure in the music industry for the last 20 years. His production company Loaded Music Productions has promoted and produced over 1,000 concerts working with artists like: No Doubt, Sublime, 311, the Black Crowes, Dave Matthews, Blues Traveler, Notorious BIG, Stone Temple Pilots, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Offspring, and countless others.
In addition to concert production & promotion, Mr Codr has managed a number of bands, logged countless hours as a producer, and was the talent buyer for several premier live music venues on the West Coast.
Although now a full time magazine publisher, Mr Codr is still considered a leading authority as one of the pioneers of "guerilla promotion" for independent artists and bands. Most of the promotional techniques he developed are still widely used by industry insiders from coast to coast evidenced by his frequent appearances as a speaker or panelist at numerous music conferences.
Here is the current schedule of workshops and music conference appearances for Mr Codr.
