The Independent Artist Registry (IAR) is open to independent artists of all genres with original material who are based in the United States.
The IAR will judge independent artist on four key elements:
Every artist receives a detailed review of their submission, complete with suggestions on how to improve and their final review score.
After the review process is completed, the IAR will select a maximum of 300 independent artists to be inducted into the IAR. These artists receive the following benefits once they are inducted.
IAR Member Benefits
- A one year endorsement deal including a cover letter naming them one of the top independent artists in the country for their press kit.
- The artist’s one page summary is sent to over 100 record label A&R contacts.
- A dedicated artist page on the IAR website along with the ability to email talent buyers, promoters, and reporters from the IAR on the artist’s behalf.
- An artist listing in the Music Phone Book.
- 6 month Broadjam MoB membership
The twenty artists who receive the highest submission review score will have their submissions re-reviewed by a panel of music industry professionals to determine the IndiE Award winner.
The IndiE Award winner is stamped by the IAR as the best independent artist in the country and receives the following:

- The artist's physical demo is submitted to over 100 of the nation’s top Record Labels. List of participating labels
- 1,000 CDs are replicated for the artist for free compliments of Disc Makers.
- A feature article written on the artist in included in the Music Phone Book.
- A one year endorsement deal including a cover letter naming them IndiE Award winner -
the top independent artist in the country.
- A dedicated artist page on the IAR website with an MP3 and EPK, along with the ability to email talent buyers, promoters, and reporters from the IAR on the artist’s behalf.
- The IndiE Award winner listing in the Music Phone Book.
- A one year Broadjam Primo Mob membership.
Artists inducted into the IAR retain full ownership of their songs and materials. The IAR does not take any percentage of any label deal arranged and IAR members are not financially obligated to the IAR in any way. The primary goal of the IAR is to help independent artists get promoted to the music industry, and get them signed to a label.
Although there is no entry fee to be considered for the IAR, artists must meet the following minimum requirements to prove they are developed enough for the IAR:
- Artist must perform a minimum of 30 shows a year - why
- Artist must have a website - why
- Artist must have a full length cd of original material - why
- Artist must have press kit - why
- Artist must be a MPB subscriber - why
